Research, Development & Consultancy Services
The institute is engaged in Research and Development activities with view to make a combination in the area of Science , Engineering and Technology by undertaking projects leading to M.tech and PHD degrees . In addition , action researcher projects are undertaken to make a qualitative improvements in the process and practices followed in conducting the programmes .
Consultancy Programs in the field of engineering services to industries and skill development of unemployed youth are undertaken by various departments of the institute .
Department Activities include preparation of teaching help materials in the form of lecture notes , tutorial and assignment sheets , laboratory memos , text books , workbooks etc .

In collaboration with National Institute of Teacher Technical Training & Research (NITTTR) Sector-26, Chandigarh; SSIET has conducted every year 4 to 5 FDP programmes as a part of IGT based Induction Training Programme organized NITTTR. This programme has been sponsored by MHRD. These programme have been conducted using VSTA Terminal facilities provided by NITTTR to SSIET. There FDP programmes are being conducted for the last three years and have been widely attended by faculty members of SSIET of other institute from near by area.
